Ok folks, this post is in response to the numerous calls from customers asking if I can still get Super Swamper tires since Interco “went out of business”. I know there is a lot of speculation, hearsay, and stuff floating around the internet, so I went to the source for some clarification. Time to slow this rumor down a bit…
I will start off by stating that no one can be sure that a business is never going under, but I felt the need to relay the current situation at Interco tires to the best of my ability.
Denman Tire Company went bankrupt. Denman Tire Co. made several of Interco’s tires, and Interco owned approximately 20% interest in Denman. (see article linked below…)
DENMAN TIRE COMPANY filed Chapter 7 Bankruptcy – Article on Tire Review web site.
My contact at Interco has assured me repeatedly that they are not going anywhere anytime soon, and that no tire lines are set to be discontinued. There will be a continued delay in production as their molds are moved to and implemented by STA.
I have new price sheets from Interco, and have placed several order with them recently. There is a pretty significant lead time on availability of some tires, but no indication of out-and-out unavailability.
For what it’s worth – the Denman closure also affects Pit Bull Tires (also not out-of-business)…
